How to Play Baccarat

The Baccarat table is often situated in a different part of a casino. The table is made in the form of an hourglass. Two dealers and the caller sit in the middle area. The task of the dealers is to control the bets; each of them controls his own side of the table; the caller controls the game play. Up to 14 players may be at the table though there are 15 marked positions, but 13 as unlucky is omitted. In front of each player is the betting area that consists of 3 options: Players, Bankers and Tie. A lost and won bet is managed by the game dealers, they also watch every player leave the payout percentage for the casino. A special area in the middle of the table is set for the payout percentage.

The main aim of Baccarat is to gain a count of 9 or lower. All players deal the cards in turn as a rule, but there are casinos where the dealer does it. The 6 to 8 decks of cards are used in the game. They are put in a special box named a “shoe”. A player at position 1 starts as the banker or dealer. The role of banker goes counterclockwise so it passes to the player to the right. Everyone can be the banker or pass this role to the next bettor. The banker deals until his hand loses and the shoe passes to the next player.

Every bettor can make three bets: Banker or Banco, Player or Punto and the most seldom Tie or Standoff. Everyone can wager on the hand which they suppose can win or on the tie. The hand wins if it has the highest point that is nine in the game. The dealer wagers on any result, but he usually stakes on Banco.

Every dealer should deal 2 hands. Every hand is made up of 2 cards. In the beginning the players make their bets, after that the dealer hand over a card face down to the caller, then to himself, and to every player. The caller gives his hand with the largest bet on Punto to the bettor. If nobody bets on Player, the caller does this. After the dealing, players open their cards starting with the player and then the banker. If the hand count is 8 or 9, the banker doesn’t draw cards more and the hand is called a “natural”, and wins the game. If no natural hands are collected, a third card is dealt, but everything depends on the rules of a particular casino.
